Annual Duffle Bag Drive
When CPS removes a child from their home they often get a black trash bag to put their belongings in. Every year around Giving Tuesday, SHOES Ministry hosts a Duffel Bag Drive for these children to give them a little dignity back in the midst of a crisis.

About the Event
In 2018, there were nearly 425,000 children in the foster care system in America. Unfortunately, when CPS removes a child from their home they often get a black trash bag to put their belongings in. Every year during Giving Tuesday, SHOES Ministry hosts a Duffel Bag Drive to purchase duffel bags for these children. Each bag has a small toiletry items and a comfort item like a teddy bear or blanket. CPS workers then take these bags with them when they have to remove a child so the child has something nice to pack their things in. These bags give them a little big of dignity in the midst of a terrible situation.
In 2018, we purchased and stuffed 400 duffle bags. SHOES Ministry's goal for 2019 is to provide 450 duffel bags to CPS offices in the Greater Houston area. This Giving Tuesday, please consider a donation to SHOES Ministry and let a vulnerable child in our community know they are not forgotten.
From November 26-December 3, you can give online at www.shoesministry.org or text BAGS18 to 44321.
