LAURA's Story

On April 6, 2015, two little boys came into our home with nothing but the clothes on their backs. As we scrambled to gather all the essential things they needed, SHOES Ministry came along side and helped us out. Most often with foster care you can only plan so much for these children that come into our homes. Not knowing in advance what their needs will be, it often leaves you scrambling to gather what you need to care for them. Organizations like SHOES Ministry are invaluable to those who open their homes through the foster care system. The old saying "it takes a village" really is true when you embark on this journey and we are grateful for the support of SHOES Ministry.
Because SHOES was such a blessing to us, there was no question that we wanted to support their efforts to bless others and that is why we became donors. Knowing that each month our donation will bless another family in their time of need is very rewarding. In July 2018, there were over 2,200 kids placed in foster care in Harris County. How great would it be if SHOES could be there to help those children and the families that are there to provide a safe and secure home for them? Our hope and prayer is that everyone who has been impacted by SHOES Ministry would be able to pay it forward and help another family in their time of need.
